Brain and Allison

So Brian and Allison are visiting on their tour across country and it is so nice having them here! Kaleigh loves them both and although she was a bit shy last night when they arrived she has warmed up a lot!
She seems to really like Brain and flirts with him all the time!

Today we went downtown and walked along the river and feed the ducks. We then went to "Small World" a Greek restaurant down town and it was sooooo good. After that we went to Sift which has the most amazing cupcakes in the world! Brain and Allison were super impressed with the cupcakes!

Pregnancy wise I have been having cramps all day long. I am also having some strange swelling that I normally do not have. I am wondering if that is a sign of early labor?!

39 weeks pregnant!

So today I am 39 weeks pregnant!! Looking back the pregnancy has gone by soooo very fast but I am ready for this baby to be here!! BOY or Girl I think about it all the time!

At my appointment today I told the doctor about some tightness I was feeling in my chest and I said although my heart rate is high right now I really feel like I should hold out on being induced. To my surprise he agreed to it! He said that we do not have to set a "date" to induce but as long as I understand my limits we can wait it out. He is the on call doctor this weekend so he said i could just call and go in at anytime when I feel like it's time to be induced!

He then checked me and found I was 2cm and 90% effaced! He also went ahead and "sweeped" my membranes. I really thought it would be more painful but it was just an uncomfortable feeling. I really hope it works!! He also guessed the baby to be about 7lb.

When Kaleigh wakes up from her nap I plan to take a nice long walk!!

Brain and Allison should be here sometime this afternoon too!

Feeling ready

Well I can honestly say I am ready for this baby! Not only because I am tired of being pregnant but because I feel like Kaleigh is ready too.
I was really worried about her being jealous and she is acting out a bit by having potty accidents but she is really getting into the "Big Sister" thing. She is listening well and wanting to Help (she loves being called "big helper"). I do however know this is different because no one is here taking mommy's attention away from her but I think its a big step in the right direction. She is even getting really good at playing by herself which will be helpful when the baby comes and I am breastfeeding. She is even being sweet and gentle with her toys and younger friends! I am so proud of her!
The other day she ran up to me and said, "Mommy I big sister now!" I told her not yet but very soon. She then lifted up my shirt and pulled down my belly band (what I wear to protect the hernia) and screamed into my belly button, "Baby get out, I Big sister!" I was almost in tears at how sweet that was! She then proceeded to pull my belly button apart which was not so sweet, but still it shows how much she loves this baby. Later that same day Curtis and I asked her if the baby was a boy or a girl, most of the time she will repeat the last word we say when asked that question, but this time she said boy. We asked her different ways many times and it was always...boy.

Family Hike

Yesterday after nap time we decide to take advantage of the beautiful day and go on a hike! I was up for it as I am starting to feel like the baby is NEVER going to coming out :)

I hadn't been hiking with Kaleigh in the pack for almost 6 months so I was bit concerned she would flip out, but she was VERY good! We were able to go for an hour and half hike at Alston Park.

38 week appointment

Well I am currently 37 weeks and 5 days.

At my appointment this week the dr checked me and I am still 1-2 cm dilated, 70% effaced, and she could feel the baby's head (super low)! She also gave me the results of my group B strep which was NEGATIVE, YAY!! I had hoped with all the pressure I am feeling and BH I have been having I would have been dilated a bit more!

She also made the comment that at 39 weeks they will want to induce me. I reach 39 weeks on the 29th so I would then insist waiting till my parents come into town on the 31st. I am really disappointed to here this but I do understand why the risk for me isn't worth taking.

I am praying I go into labor by myself! I very much would like the experience of going into labor without medication!

37 weeks and 4 days

Well I am 17 days away from my due date and I am praying that this baby will come before then naturaly.
I am very much tired of being pregnant and I would love to have my body back. I am staying active and doing my best to move things along without doing more than my heart can take.
On Wednesday of last week I went to the hospital due to dizziness and vomiting. I knew something was wrong. Curtis meet Kaleigh and I at the hospital and he took Kaleigh back home. I was hookedup to a monitor and was having contractions and the baby was moving like a mad man/woman. They kept asking if I could feel them and I told them yes but they are not painful so I knew it wasn't anything to get excited about. After seeing the baby was fine and happy the dr talked to my cardiologist about my sympotoms and they determined it was my betablocker that was causing my dizziness and vomiting.
They determined it would continue through the rest of the preganancy (one of the reasons I had to be induced with Kaleigh) but this is the best medication for me to be on. I am hoping to NOT be induced this time so I am dealing with it and doing my best to keep my heart rate where it needs to be.

I have had no problems with my heart up until this point which I am VERY happy and thankful for!

37 week appointment

Well today has been a very eventful day!!

This morning as I was getting Kaleigh ready for school, I go in her room to get her clothes and she shuts the door on me. Not thinking anything of it I get her panties and everything ready to dress her. At this point I try to open the door. SHE HAS LOCKED THE DOOR!! I try and get her to come unlock the door from the outside...she hides.
I am then stuck in her room because we have flipped the handle around so she wouldn't lock herself in her room at night. The door handle is also not one of those that can be picked but an actual lock and key (the people that lived there before rented out the rooms). I don't have the key and I do not have my phone.
I beg and beg Kaleigh to unlock the door...nothing! At this point I know what my only option is...I open Kaleigh's window and break out her screen. I then have to pull her toy chest to the window and go for it. I worry about the drop on the other side (about 3 1/2 feet), but what else do I do. I jump out the window and man does that hurt!!
I am thankful that I had unlocked the back door this morning and go into the house. I am calling for Kaleigh and check all the rooms. I can not find her!! I start to freak out and start looking in all her normal hiding spots...she was hiding under the kitchen table.
It was only 8:30am at this point!!!!!!!!! I am also only wearing tank top and panties

After dropping Kaleigh off at school I headed to my OB appointment!

The dr was running a little late but the excitement really started when he walked in.

I lifted my shirt to hear the heart beat and his smile dropped. He started to feel my belly and said, "I think the baby had flipped." My heart sank because I know at this point of 37 weeks they really don't flip back at this point. He asked if I mind if he does an ultrasound...uh do it. He does the ultrasound and smiles and explains he couldn't find the baby's head because the baby is "engaged" and behind my pelvic bone already. I was soooo happy
He then does the group B swab and checks me. He tells me I am 50% effaced and 1-2cm dilated, WOOT WOOT!! He also makes the comment that I am not going to have a hard time pushing the baby out because I have one of the widest pelvis he has seen. It made me laugh because the dr that delivered Kaleigh told me I am made to birth babies!

TIRED

So I am 37 weeks tomorrow and I am ready! I know I need to wait and I am not going to try and get this baby to come yet but I am officaly sick of being pregnant.

I forgot this point when I was pregnant with Kaleigh! Maybe there is a reason we forget or we wouldn't have more then one child! I am havign a very hard time sleeping! I keeping wanting to kick Curtis out of the bed but I know thats not right...oh well only 3 weeks till due date and a max of 5 weeks (wow 5 weeks is a long time). I am also having so much pain down there its crazy...I hope that means I am dialating a bit! I will know tomorrow at my OB appointment!
Ok i am done complaining!

I think Kaleigh and I will be having a lazy day! We will be staying home today...first time since the rain stopped we have done so. I think we will do a cleanup day.

Monday, July 12

36 weeks and 3 days

As I haven't been putting up many belly photos! I had hoped this time round I would take one every week to have a better comparison for growth. Oh well maybe next time!

Nesting

So with Kaleigh I never had the "nesting" feeling. This baby the nesting feeling has been crazy! Today I went a bit crazy and I had to get things done! I am doing a deep clean of the house tomorrow too!

I really think this baby is coming before its due date! I am wanting to make it to the due date because it is my daddy's Birthday but I want to at least get to 38 weeks! However, I could be wrong and go past my due date...we will have to see!

I also am getting anxious about BOY or GIRL

Thursday, July 8

36 weeks pregnant

So today I am officially 36 weeks pregnant! I have to be honest in saying I am DONE with being pregnant but not at all ready to have the baby! Curtis feels the same way, however, neither one of us know what we need to do in order to be ready!

I have been getting LOTS of Braxton Hicks contractions and tons of cervical pressure. I am hoping that I will at least make it till July 31st which is when my parents get into town, but we do have a backup plan if I go early! I am so thankful for my friends I have made out here!

Yesterday Kaleigh and I went to the beach with our friends (she is due next week). We had a lot of fun!
