Mad beyond reason!

So today was the Fetal echo for the baby! I was very excited to see the little tadpole and get a clean bill of health for the baby's heart! However, we did not make it to the fetal echo because the babysitter did not show up to watch Kaleigh and for things like this (not a simple ultrasound) a two year old would not sit quietly for an hour! After an hour drive!
As a result I am extremely mad because even after I e-mailed to remind her yesterday-said she would be here at 9am, called her at 9am (time she was to be here)-no answer, called her again when she was 5 min late-no answer & left message, 3 min later text messaged her-no answer, then emailed her-no answer, then she text messages me at 10am, "I am so sorry! My alarm didn't go off and I over slept!" Let me state for the record this lady is 24 years old (older than myself) and has a kid (whom she let stay with its dad because she had to work in the morning).
I am mad not only because of the disappointment of not seeing the baby but what really gets me is that we now have to pay a $50 fee because I called and canceled at the last minute! Like we have $50 to throw away because a lazy person could not get her butt out of bed!
To make matters worse, they rescheduled my appointment for April 14th when I am 25 weeks and the doctor said it will be harder because the baby has grown to see the complete structure of the baby's heart. Meaning that the possibility of them missing something wrong is much higher than it would have been today! However, they can't get me in next week because the doctor that does the fetal echo is only there one day next week and he is booked!

Poor Curtis and Kaleigh for having to deal with me! I am trying not to get mad with anyone because the two people to blame are: 1st off myself for trusting that this lady would actually do her job, and two the lazy person that could not get out of bed!!

Ikea

We brought most of Kaleigh's stuff when we moved making it easier to prepare for the baby. We have a crib, changing table, and many other little things; however, we still needed to get a glider (rocking chair), breast pump, dresser, and bedding.

Today we went to Ikea a found a very cute toy box and dresser set at a reasonable price. Curtis put together the toy box already and Kaleigh tested it out!

We also bought the bedding last week, photo below. The only thing we need is a glider and we are searching craigslist and yard sales for now. We are willing to buy a new one if we don't find anything for a good deal in OK condition, but second hand I can always make new cushions matching the room. Plenty of time to keep looking, 4ish months!

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

Kaleigh and I went to Six Flags today with our friends Lena and Naomi! For Kaleigh's second Birthday I recieved a seasons pass to Six Flags! At first I was a bit confused because the Six flags back home only had rides and I didn't think Kaleigh would enjoy it that much!
The Six Flags here is AMAZING! It has animals, animal shows, kids rides, and thrill rides! It has everything you should eve want! Oh they even have a little water park!! The Six Flags over Georgia is nothing compared to this one and to be honest I was very suprised by that!
Well here are some photos! We only made it through less than half of the animals and no rides! Next trip (maybe next week) we plan to do the other half of the park! These are some of the photo's from the day!

Making the pregnancy real

As the one who is pregnant the realness of the pregnancy happened many months ago. However, I truely beleive last night the pregnancy became real for Curtis.

We were watching TV after Kaleigh had gone to bed and I was laying down with my legs resting in his lap. All the sudden the baby began to kick extremly hard. I rested my hand on my tummy and I felt the kick. This early in the pregnancy with Kaleigh I still couldn't feel her kick from the outside (21 weeks).
I then placed Curtis' hand in the same spot and the baby kicked again. Curtis' face was like a light bulb turning on!It was as if at that point Curtis was connected to the baby and understood we would have a new baby soon. He kept trying to get the baby to do it again and it kicked a couple more times but Curtis couldn't feel it.

With Kaleigh's pregnancy the light bulb moment didn't happen till the day I delivered her. I think this time it was earlier because he knows what is coming this time!

A very special moment I will treasure forever...as will Curtis!

Great company...

Well I decided it was time to comment about the cloth diapers I have been using! I LOVE them! They are so easy and not nearly as much fuss as I feared! I am potty training Kaleigh so she only wears them out and about and at night. I wouldn't say they are easier then disposables but they are NOT harder!

Right now we are using GroBaby during the day and Happy Heiny at night! I got them from a lady from the Napa mom's club named Angella and her company is BumRite diapers. It is an online company that she runs out of her basement.

About a month ago I went to her house and she showed me all the different options. Late last week I wen ton the site and gave reviews on the products I purchased. I mentioned that on of the diaper pail liners had riped. She insisted that I bring it back and she would replace it. I then checked my other liner and the diapers and found the other liner had ripped too. I mentioned this and she called the company to tell them about the defect...well it turns out I had used the wrong setting on the washer and the water was too hot. Live and Learn!

She replaced both liners and a diaper that the Velcro had melted a little. All of it was my fault but she still replaced them!

ANYWAY...
Bumrite is a great company and Angella is so sweet! For any of your cloth diapering needs checkout her website:

Bedding set

For the past couple nights Curtis and I have been looking at different bedding for the baby. It was very hard to find a bedding set we both liked that was gender neutral! I think we went for one that leans more to a boy but we hope if it is a girl we can add some lighter colors and make it more girly. I think last night was the first night I wish we had found out the sex!
Well this is the bedding!

We also tried to talk about names but honestly I don't think we will have names picked out for sure until we leave the hospital! My goal is to have at least 5 girl and boy names we like and bring the name to the hospital. That is if we don't know before!
Curtis and I are bad about names and I think it only going to get worse with the more children we have! Also I am only half way through the pregnancy so I know right now we don't have the pressure to pick a name! Curtis and I are the biggest procrastinators in the world :)
I will start posting our name ideas soon

154bpm

Well today I wokeup feeling very shaky and not in the best of moods. I figured my heart rate was high as this happens sometimes. I took my beta blockers and went about my morning with Kaleigh.
As my mood got worse and I became more and more jittery I decided I should pull out the heart monitor. After a false reading of 000 I tried again and my heart rate was 154bpm. I then decided I better call the cardiologist and see if he wants to see me or take another dosage of betablocker.
His nurse answered and got him on the phone to talk to me. He decided to come to his office and then he would send me to the hospital from there if he needed too. So I got Kaleigh ready and myself. I then drove the 20 min to his office.
By the time I got there my heart rate had gone down to 140bpm and he did an EKG. He found that I had a couple of PVC (preterm ventrical contractions) and experiencing some attackacardia(sp). I was lucky and didn't have to go to the hospital because the EKG recorded my heart rate at 110bpm so I was coming out of my attackacardia.
I was told to take it easy and changed my dosage of betablockers!I am glad I didn't have to go into the hospital because Curtis would have had to take a day off work and I feel like the hospital is such a waste of time. I know as the pregnancy goes along the attackacardia will become more frequent as it did with KaleighWe will see how things go from here!

The baby is getting stronger and Kaleigh felt the baby kick her back when she was in my lap. She looked at me as if to say, "What was that?" However what came out was, "no push!"
Today Kaleigh has not beena a happy girl! She has been in a bad mood since 6am! I am ready for Curtis to be home!

Baby rock'n it

Yesterday it was so cool to feel the baby jumping around while I was resting during Kaleigh's nap time! The baby must have enjoyed the coke a cola and pasta I ate for lunch!

Then when Kaleigh woke up she must have startled the baby because it kicked when I got her out of her bed! It already loves it's big sister!

Curtis' guys night was cancelled so I was able to go to my water aerobics class. I felt bad that he didn't get to go out because he does so much for our family! However, I love being able to get away and have some time to just enjoy being pregnant and talk to other pregnant women! Last night the baby didn't respond to the water like Kaleigh used too but I think he/she was sleeping!

Cooking day today

My mother-in-law reminded me that right now is an important time to start building up meals in the freezer! This way as I get further in the pregnancy and not wanting to cook we have meals I can just thaw and eat. Also when the new baby gets here and I am way too tired to cook or just don't have time I will still have good meals to pullout of the freezer and eat.

Luckly we have a BIG chest freezer

When Curtis' mom was here for Kaliegh's Birthday she cooked up about 8 meals for freezing! She also left me a really cool cook book that is all meals that are good freezing food!

So today as I am feeling pretty good and in the mood to cook (must be some nesting going on). So I am going to have a cooking day! I am planning to cook 5 different meals and hope to get at least two meals out of each! 10 meals total...maybe more depending on my mood!

Mexican Stroganoff
chicken packets (Kaleigh can't eat these, but they are one of Curtis' favorites from childhood)
Neat Sloppy Joes
Chicken Fried Rice
Italian meatballs

Kaleigh and I are going to gymnastics class in about an hour and then we will go to the grocery store! I am planning to cook during nap time because if I do it while Kaleigh is awake she will be stepping on my toes(literaly)the whole time!

My two year old!!

Well as my post was all about feeling better and the baby I wanted to update on Kaleigh too!

Well she is a bundle of energy and brings me great joy!It has taken her 3 days to recover from the fun of the party! This morning is the first morning she woke up in a good mood and not been fussy.

She is now almost potty trained! Still not dry at night but I know that will take a while, however, she is dry through nap time as long as she goes potty before nap! She also has some accidents when she is having too much fun and not thinking about it, but I think thats normal! The BIG deal is she is now asking to go potty and going every time she asks!!

Here are some photo's from the Birthday party:

These photos are for ST. Patricks Day:

Feeling like myself again!!

The pain is gone!! Praise God for doctors who listen and think about the well being of BOTH patients! Well I finally feel like myself again: I can think clearly, play with Kaleigh, able to have dinner ready for Curtis at night, able to get up in the morning NOT wishing that it was raining outside so it would be less painful, I can drive, and I am able to go outside and do things!!

I have a new OB to thank for that! She is in the same practice as the others I have been seeing, but till this week I had not had an appointment with her. She took interest in my concerns about taking narcotics and still being in pain.

She told me she was concerned that although the medicine I was last given has stopped the vomiting I am still down a pound from my starting weight (at this point the average person should have gained 10lb and a 1 lb a week from here on out). She was also concerned that my blood pressure was on the higher side because of the pain of the migraine! I would have thought that they would have worried about this earlier but oh well...at least I am better now.

I have been put on a medication called Midrin (I was on the same thing with Kaleigh) it is a class C medication, meaning not enough research to determine safe during pregnancy or not. She brought in 7 different books to find all the information about the medication, after reading the research they have on Midrin and me being in the middle of my second trimester she decided there was no risk to the baby! She even went further and said that at this point most medications are safe to take during pregnancy, but they are still cautious about what pregnant women are on.

So my appointment was Monday, I took the medication Tuesday morning and the migraine disappeared! I know it will come back but I can not express how happy I am to NOT feel high on painkillers and pain free!

I will be asking to only see this lady from here on out!! Only took half the pregnancy to find a person I like :)!

I am not sure if I will continue the accupuncture because after my last appointment Saturday the migraines got WORSE not better! Maybe I will wait and give the medication time to see if it works and then go back?

Oh I am 20 weeks today!!!! Happy Half way to me! I think in the next couple weeks we will start to think about decorating the babies room! All neutral as we don't know the sex :)

Friday, March 12

I have a two year old!

So I have to say that I can NOT believe I have a two year old, tomorrow! My little baby girl is no longer a little baby! She is my opinionated, BIG personality, energenic, lovable two year old!! God gave me the best gift in the world and her name is Kaleigh!!

Tomorrow is Kaleigh's Birthday party and I am VERY stressed about it. I am thankful Curtis' parents are here to help get the things that need to get done, done! I am so tired today after all the little things I had to get done even though his parents did so much more! I forget how much pregnancy takes out of you!

Baby has been moving a good amount today and I am looking forward to another round of acupuncture in the morning! I am pleasently surprised with how well this stuff works! I only get migraines late at night now! Maybe its a sign to go to bed...maybe :)!

Well I am going to change the laundry over again and HOPEFULY head to bed! I am not going to be able to fall asleep till Curtis is home so I am glad he will be heading home soon!

I love you Kaleigh and I can not believe you are two!!!

Thursday, March 11

So yesterday we went to the specialist!!

So yesterday Curtis took the day off and we went to the paranatologist(sp)! A very sweet friend looked after Kaleigh so that Curtis and I could enjoy the ultrasoundand not have the stress of dealing with Kaleigh.

The ultrasound was great!

Curtis was not able to come to Kaleigh's ultrasounds so it was extra special to see this baby. Also knowing a baby was growing inside of me took both our breathe away, I think I could have 20 kids and still think God's work is amazing!!

The utrasound tech asked if we wanted to know the sex and we both said NO! I was shocked at our strength :)!

Here are some of the pictures! Baby looks perfect and everything is as it should be. I still have to go to a second appointment to recheck the baby's heart but they beleive the baby should be perfect!

Sunday, March 7

Beautiful Sunday

Today the weather is perfect! It is sunny and warm enough for a t-shirt and pants! I have to say that California really does have nice weather!

Wokr up this morning without a headache!! YAY! Also the good news is it is now 12:30 and I do not feel any sign of a migraine coming!! I fear of getting my hopes up but I can not help myself but be joyful about the LACK of pain! My next appointment with the acupuncturist is Saturday morning so this is a good thing...so far :)

This morning we took advantage of me being pain free and went to church. It was good, still miss my old Methodist Church but Kaleigh loves this church so we are adjusting. They had a guest pastor and choir and they were both excelent! The choir reminded me of the good old Highschool choir days with Mr. Yackly!

On our way home we went to the grocery store and got some food for the week! A great suprise phone call when one of our friends said they would love to come over and hangout and work on the house, thats Friendship right there! So we bought more food so we could treat them for dinner! We also bought the ballons we are going to use for making Kaleigh's pinata. I was going to make it Bob from Veggie tales but I think that is going to take too much talent. I may instead make it a pig or something easy!

Kaleigh and I then took a couple minutes to play outside and take some photos in the beautiful weather and her cute dress from my parents! Now it is nap time and I need to go work on cleaning the house!

Saturday, March 6

Starting to stress over Birthday party

Well today I went to the acupuncturist. I felt better in the office and then when I hit the sun the pain came back. However, in all, I have felt BETTER; not pain free but its good to feel better!! I went to a different lady today because she accepts our insurance and she has a different approach to the first. I am hoping to get the same results or better!

I can not believe Kaleigh will be 2 next week! On March 13, next Saturday, Kaleigh will be 2 and we will also be having her Birthday party. In the next week we (Curtis mostly) has a lot of work to do around the house so that the house looks OK for guests. I feel bad because many nights he has wanted to do stuff around the house but couldn't because of my migraines.
Last week we got some exciting news that Curtis' parents will be here for Kaleigh's Birthday! I think Birthdays (especially at this young age) is more of a family affair, but as we don't have any family in California I am glad to say our friends are going to help celebrate! I am glad his parents are going to be able to be here too!
After my acupuncturist appointment Kaleigh and I painted her play house and Curtis worked on the door for the house! Our goal is to have it painted, floored, and a door by her Birthday. Thats only one of the things on our to do list before the Birthday party! I know Curtis' parents will be put to work :) to get all the last minute things done!

Ok lets try a poll again

As we are not finding out the sex of this baby we thought it would be fun to make a game out of it!

Thursday, March 4

Not so lucky today

Unlike my beautiful morning yesterday I had to wake up with a migraine this morning! I have made another appointment for Saturday at the acupuncturist. Lets see maybe yesterday was a complete fluke?! I really don't want to think that way though!

Kaleigh woke up early this morning and started kicking the door. Not the nicest way to be woken up!

Should be a pretty day outside! I really wish I could take Kaleigh to the park but I know I will be in so much pain it would not be worth it! I also want to go to the store and buy Kaleigh some more craft supplies, but I don't think I could make it to the store and back without putting us and everyone else at risk with my driving. So I guess we will be staying inside. I am going to try and find some fun craft for Kaleigh to do! The craft can't be too loud or outside and we only have a couple things at home...

I'll post some pictures of what we need up doing!

Wednesday, March 3

AMAZING!!

So this morning is the first time in 12 weeks I have woken up without a headache! I can not express the joy I feel to be able to think and DO things again! I felt like the migraines had taken over my life completely! I understand that this maybe a fluke but the only thing that has changed is the acupuncture I had done yesterday and the herb medicine she gave me (yes its safe during pregnancy)!

I can not get over the ability for my pain to be working!! Sounds silly but I truly felt like I could not function before!!

Ok well the acupuncturist...I made the appointment yesterday after getting off the phone with my doctor who is very worried that I am now vomiting during the migraines. She was concerned that because I have not gained any weight and now I am throwing up (which I had ms but I just didn't want to eat). She prescribed me anti nausea medication. I told her I am more worried that something is WRONG with this pregnancy. I said I can not see how this is NORMAL. She told me that no this is not "normal" but it can happen and its something that may get better during the pregnancy or get worse. I told her I could not imagine them getting worse and she told me one patient she had was hospitalized because of migraines.

I explained to her that with NO family in the area that is not an option.

She then told me to try chiropractors or acupuncture! She did say that whomever I go to needs to be knowledgeable about the effects their practices would have on a pregnancy! I knew a chiropractor would not be a possibility because of my stinosis(sp), which is a narrowing of the spinal column. I then asked for a recommendation for an acupuncturist.

I called a couple different acupuncturists to get an appointment for ASAP. The lady I ended up going to is very nice! She got her degree in Chinese natural medicine and then came to the US and got her PHD.

She looked at my tongue, my ears, and took my pulse through both wrists. She told me I would be having a boy and then proceeded with the acupuncture. It was not painful and I felt better right away; however, it came back when I got in the car. She also gave me some natural herbs. She told me I will need to come back again later this week and I will.

I thank the lord for working through the acupuncturist and for natural medicine when modern medicine does not work!!

Tuesday, March 2

I can no longer eat

These migraines have taken over my life! I can no longer eat without violent vomiting from the pain of the migraines! I am in tears!

I have been waiting since 7am to call my doctor! Only 15 more min! This is not considered an emergency so they will not return my call before office hours. I just want answers to WHY this is happening!

Curtis gets home from work and has to do all the stuff around the house that I should be able to do!This is not right for him! I am sure he is sick of me!

Monday, March 1

Yet another migraine

I really think this is ridiculous, why the HELL am I getting these migraines? Yes I got a couple with Kaleigh but I have one EVERY DAY! Some days the migraine is worse than others but EVERYDAY?! I just don't think this is normal!

I am going to call the doctor and talk to them! I don't want medication I NEED answers! To be honest I don't even like my OB because they don't seem to listen when I talk to them!

Yeah so what I am young, this isn't my first kid so I am not over reacting. I also know my body very well and know when something is not normal. Just because I don't freak out and come into your office screaming or run to the ER doesn't mean I am not in pain! Everyone acts differently to pain! Do I need to freak out? I can do that!

Just a little vent!
